Rhode Island home instruction request — free
Fill in the blanks and download a request letter plus a short instruction plan for your school committee. No account, no cost.
When should I send it?
Before you begin. Rhode Island home instruction is approved by your local school committee, so ask for approval before you withdraw or start. There is no statewide form or deadline — each committee sets its own process, so ask yours how it wants the request sent. Keep a dated copy.
R.I. Gen. Laws §§ 16-19-1, 16-19-2
Children
Every outline retains the seven statutory subjects, English instruction, attendance, the register and thorough and efficient instruction. A concise proposal is not an exemption from committee approval or your existing approval terms. Interest-led learning still needs to address each subject. Your own subject notes are kept.
Subjects
These are the subjects named in § 16-19-2. A short line on materials is plenty — leave any blank and a general line is used.
How you'd like to show progress
Rhode Island law doesn't set a statewide test or evaluation format. Leaving this proposal out does not cancel existing approval terms; clarify any local expectations in writing.
Your request is built in your browser — the details you type aren't saved to Pennsole. If you add an email, we keep your name and email only to send the occasional Rhode Island homeschool tip. Unsubscribe anytime.
